Floating Leaves

20051024_leaves_bowl.jpgFall fashions may have been in stores for months now, but the real Fall colors -- the reds, yellows and golds of Fall leaves on trees and sidewalks -- are only just starting to show up. Celebrate their brilliance (and avoid having to spend money on flowers or pumpkin centerpieces) by making the leaves you find on your way home the focal point of your table this weekend. Put branches of garnet and gold leaves in a vase for a brilliant arrangement, or borrow an idea from my earlier post on floating flowers and scatter a handful of leaves in a low bowl of water to make an indoor version of a Fall pond landscape.
