Nothing brightens up a room like flowers, and as the months get colder and colder a few blooms on the table will keep you feeling warm and happy and improve your quality of life. But flowers are expensive, and $15-$20 a week is enough to take a friend for drinks on Friday or buy a new wardrobe at the end of the year. The solution? Float a couple blooms in a shallow bowl for more bang for the buck. Ours was a gift from Crate and Barrel, but Ikea has one for only $3.99.
